Day 7, ABCs of Gratitude: Grandma Pauline

Day 7* and today we celebrate our gratitude for something that begins with the letter 'G'. Seeing as how I just got into town to visit my Grandma and family, I can't think of a better day to give a shout out to the lady herself, Grandma Pauline**.

Grandma and I at the house, Summer 2012
My Grandma has loved me and spoiled me from the day she met me. She is the most tender-hearted woman but she can also show her sassy side too. For example, she has baked me an apple pie every time I visit (for the past 6 years) knowing that it is my favorite; but sit down with her and play a game of Uno or any other card game and whooooo-eey! She is a shark! She and my Grandpa (who passed a year and a half ago) have lived in the same house my entire life, and going back to see her is like stepping into a photo album full of warm memories and laughs.

*If this is your first time here, "Welcome!", you have joined Beet is Beautiful and First World Gratitude on the 7th day of the 'ABCs of Gratitude'. From the beginning of the month, we have been posting a note about something that we are grateful for. Each day's topic will correspond to the respective letter of the alphabet and lead us to the most grateful day of the year, Thanksgiving. We encourage you to start each day thinking about something you are grateful for--even if it doesn't correspond to the day's letter!

**Her real name is actually Olive, but she prefers Pauline. Had to share that though--because I think it's the cutest name ever.
