Day 15, ABCs of Gratitude: Outsiders

And then, on the 15th day, I shared my gratitude for something that begins with the letter 'O'. And today, I am grateful for "Outsiders".

Not only is it a great book I read in high school, it was also adapted for the silver screen in 1983 and full of all-star power. A few 'no-names' that were on the cast include: Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, Emilio Estevez. It was the first movie I enjoyed for how thoroughly bad it was...and I think it was a real turning point for my sense of humor.

In addition to being a coming-of-age tale, I'm also grateful for the outsiders in the world who are brave enough to veer from the norm and do things on their terms. Outsiders keep this life interesting and help us evolve by thinking about things in a way that couldn't be seen from the inside looking out.
