Day 13 of the ABCs of Gratitude and today we are on the letter "M".
Today, I am grateful for "Mistakes". And here are a few reasons why:
Mistakes...
- Are what teach us to be better. Sometimes the only way to learn is to learn from a mistake.
- Are inevitable--and, from my own personal experience, trying too hard not to make one results in a life full of tension and anxiety.
- Often happen when we don't follow our gut. I've got a library full of bad dating stories that can attest to this one!
- Are what make us human.
- Are humbling.
- Can lead to something better than you imagined (see: the story of the marshmallow).
- Are the grammatically-correct term in the often-used phrase, "My bad!"--present company included. What? I am a female child of the 90s and therefore have 'Clueless' all but memorized.
- Reveal your true colors as well as those around you.
